Moldtek Technologies, in association with Almaknack and the ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu, has launched a large-scale Skill Development Initiative aimed at upskilling 2,203 civil engineering students across the state in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and steel construction design.
As part of this initiative, Moldtek Technologies has contributed ₹50 Lakhs to the ICT Academy to support the structured training programme. The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, ensuring that graduating engineers are aligned with real-world project demands and global digital construction standards.
Structured Two-Level Programme
The programme is delivered in two levels:
Level 1 – Steel Construction Foundation Module
Facilitated by Almaknack, this module introduces students to steel detailing fundamentals and digital construction workflows, built on Moldtek’s 25+ years of experience in the steel detailing and engineering services domain.
Level 2 – Advanced In-Person Training
Led by ICT Academy with Nemetschek-trained trainers, this phase provides hands-on sessions in batches of 60 students. The training leverages the Nemetschek technology ecosystem, enabling students to gain practical exposure to industry-grade BIM tools and processes.
This year’s programme covers nearly 73% of civil engineering graduates in Tamil Nadu, making it one of the most comprehensive skill development efforts in the region focused on steel construction and digital engineering.
Strengthening the Engineering Ecosystem
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Laxman Rao J, CMD, Moldtek Group, stated:
“Today marks a landmark in our steadfast commitment to advancing civil engineering in India. Through this investment in tomorrow’s talent, we are not only elevating individual employability but also fortifying the broader engineering ecosystem for sustained national progress.”
The initiative aligns with state-level efforts to enhance employability and strengthen collaboration between industry and academia. By providing hands-on exposure to industry tools and practical workflows, the programme aims to make graduates job-ready for careers in construction, structural engineering, and digital construction sectors where India is poised to become one of the largest construction economies globally.
Expanding the Vision
Through Almaknack, the programme is planned to expand pan-India, starting with Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Additionally, Almaknack aims to introduce AI awareness programmes for young graduates across streams to support future-ready careers.
Moldtek Technologies, a leading global ER&D organisation listed on both the BSE and NSE, remains committed to building a future-ready workforce through strategic partnerships, innovative training initiatives, and industry-aligned learning frameworks.
